What’s the best time to call Ghana from the UK

You’ll need to find a time that works best for you, and the friend or family member living in Ghana. Certain times of day may be more practical, for both parties. Fortunately, for much of the year Ghana and the UK share the same time zone. However, the UK observes daylight saving time from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October. Ghana doesn’t, though, and during this period Ghana is one hour behind the UK.

So, if you call from the UK at 8:00 in the morning, on 1st January, it will be 8:00 in Ghana. But if you call from the UK at 8:00 in the morning, on 1st April, it will be 7:00 in Ghana.

How to call a landline in Ghana from the UK

Calling a landline in Ghana is simple, and follows these easy steps: 

  • Step 1: Dial 00, the UK exit code 

  • Step 2: Dial 232, Ghana’s country code 

  • Step 3: Dial the applicable area code within Ghana – for instance, 21 (Accra)

  • Step 4: Lastly, dial the 10-digit phone number of the landline you intend to call

When you’re done, you should have a string of numbers 16-18 digits long.

How to call a mobile in Ghana from the UK

Calling a mobile in Ghana is only slightly different from calling a landline – the difference is: you don’t need to enter an area code.

  • Step 1: Dial 00, the UK exit code

  • Step 2: Dial 232, Ghana’s country code

  • Step 3: Lastly, dial the 10-digit phone number of the person you intend to call

When you’re done, you should have a string of numbers 14 digits long.
