How do I cancel a transfer that I have made?
The fastest way to request a cancellation is through the app.
How to request a cancellation:
Log in to your account via the app
Go to your transfer activity
Go to the transfer you want to cancel
Press 'Request cancellation'
After you request a cancellation, we will send an email to inform you if the request was successful. Unfortunately, we may not be able to refund a transfer after it has been been paid out.
How long does a refund take?
It usually takes up to 7 working days for a refund to be credited back to you after we’ve cancelled the transaction. This can take longer depending on how you paid and/or your provider:
How do I know if my transfer has been cancelled?
We’ll send an email to let you know as soon as your transfer has been cancelled. You can also check the status of transfers in the 'Transfer history' section of your account.
A transfer usually takes up to 7 working days to be credited back to you once it has been cancelled.
Can I recall a paid transfer?
We can sometimes – but not always – recall mobile money and bank transfer transfer that have already been paid.
If you entered incorrect information when sending money, for example a mobile money wallet number, we may try to recall the transfer for you. Please contact WorldRemit as soon as possible.
Airtime top up and cash pickup transfers which are already paid cannot be recalled.
Why are recalls not guaranteed?
To successfully recall funds we must:
Contact the recipient and ask them for authorisation to debit them
The recipient of the money must:
Consent to the recall
Have a big enough balance to cover the recall
