Is WorldRemit licensed by the financial regulator in Malaysia?

WorldRemit (Malaysia) SDN BHD (201701022958) is approved by the Central Bank of Malaysia with a Class-B license to provide digital money remittance services.


Who is eligible to use the WorldRemit service in Malaysia?

The WorldRemit service can be used by any individual who fulfils the following criteria:

  • Is at least 18 years old

  • Has a valid government-issued photo ID (see below for acceptable documents)

  • Has a Malaysian internet banking account (for FPX) or a debit card or credit card issued by any of the Malaysian banks


What type of document is acceptable to verify my identity in Malaysia?

The acceptable identity documents vary according to your status: (1) Malaysian: National Identity Card, Passport, MyTentera (2) Permanent Resident: MyPR, Foreign Passport (3) Foreigner National: Foreign Passport. Please note: a driving license is not accepted as a verification ID for WorldRemit Malaysia.

What are the charges for sending money with WorldRemit?

We are transparent about the charges incurred on every transfer. You will only pay the transaction fee as shown on screen before you make payment for your transfer.


What is an exchange rate?

Exchange rate is the price of one currency in terms of another currency. This conversion rate is used to send money in one currency to a country using another currency. Our exchange rate will always be shown on our website and mobile app, and the applicable exchange rate will be clearly displayed to you when you make a transfer.


How do I pay for my transfer from Malaysia?

You can make the payment for your transfer by (1) Bank transfer: You can make payment via FPX automatically to our account. Details will be displayed on the payment screen or (2) Debit & Credit cards: Please ensure that your debit card or credit card is issued by any of the Malaysian banks.


How much money can I send per day?

You can send up to RM30,000 per day. There is a RM14,500 limit on any single transaction.

However, there may be additional restrictions on the amount that can be sent to certain countries. In the event your transaction value exceeds the daily limit, Customer Support will contact you to request additional documents to facilitate further transactions.

Kindly note that the FPX maximum daily transaction limit is RM30,000 and is subject to your internet banking limit setting.

Frequency

You can transact up to 10 times in a rolling 30 day period provided that the total value of cumulative transactions does not exceed RM30,000 per day. This is based on the last 30 days (rather than calendar month) and will reset automatically as time passes.

We will also analyse your transaction patterns for risks as part of our obligations as a licensed entity.

Do I have to enter the recipient details every time I send money?

For your first transaction to a new recipient you will need to enter all the required details. For your convenience, those recipient details will be saved securely and can be easily selected for any future transactions. You can edit or update saved details at any time.


How do I check the status of my transaction?

You can check the status of your transaction at any time by logging in to the WorldRemit website or mobile app.


Do I get a receipt/proof for my transaction?

Yes, a unique transaction number will be provided to you for every transfer with us.
