How to install the WorldRemit

exchange rate widget

You can use our widget to keep up to date on our latest exchange rate to your favourite country where you want to send money to, directly on the homescreen of your mobile phone. There is no need for you to connect to the app or check on the calculator. 

If you have an Android phone, the widget will show you our latest exchange rates for the countries in which you send or receive money.

If you have an iPhone, the exchange rate widget will show you our latest exchange rate, based on the details of your last WorldRemit money transfer (countries where you are sending money from and to, payment methods, send amount).

Clicking on the widget from the homescreen of your mobile phone automatically redirects you to the pre-filled calculator screen in the WorldRemit app. This will save you precious time when you send money again.

Install the WorldRemit exchange rate widget

The WorldRemit exchange rate widget is an extension of the WorldRemit app. In order to install it on your phone, you must have installed the app first.

If you have an Android phone

1. On GooglePlay, make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the WorldRemit app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.worldremit.android 

2. On the homescreen of your phone, clear up a space of 6 apps

3. On the homescreen of your phone, long press to display the widgets settings

4. Scroll right to select the Worldremit widget

5. Drag and drop the widget to your cleared homescreen space 

6. You will be prompted by the widget to log in to your WorldRemit account and select the country where you want to send money to in order to confirm the set up.

7. Your widget is now all set and will refresh automatically, always showing you our latest exchange rate available.

8. Clicking on the widget automatically redirects you to the pre-filled calculator screen in the WorldRemit app.

If you have an iPhone

1. On the AppStore, make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the WorldRemit app https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/worldremit-money-transfer/id875855935 

2. From the homescreen of your phone, swipe right to display the widgets screen

3. Scroll down the widgets screen and click on “Edit” and then "Customise"

4. Add the WorldRemit widget

5. Drag it up the list

6. Click “Done”

7. You will be prompted by the widget to log into your WorldRemit account so it can check the details of your latest money transfers

8. Your widget is now all set and will refresh automatically.

If you haven’t made your first money transfer yet, it will prompt you to make your first money transfer. Clicking on the widget will automatically redirect you to the calculator in the WorldRemit app.

If you have sent money with us in the past, the widget will show you the latest exchange rate available based on the details of your last money transfer. Clicking on the widget will automatically redirect you to the pre-filled calculator screen in the WorldRemit app - ready for you to review and send again.

Exchange rates on the WorldRemit exchange rate widget

Note that the exchange rate displayed on the WorldRemit exchange rate widget may differ from the exchange rate you can see on the WorldRemit app. The exchange rate is based on the country you are sending money from and where you want to send money to. It may be subject to change once you have chosen your payment method and delivery method.
