I*mShenji

Name: Shenji

Homes: Singapore and the UK

Occupation: Educator and Software Engineer

I*mShenji. I’m a melting pot of cultures. Whether I’m walking down Orchard Road in 99% humidity or solving difficult maths problems in London, I’m at home wherever I am. I’m a teacher and a learner, a type A personality with a chilled mindset. I’m an oxymoron. But mostly, I’m a mentor who guides young people to pursue their dreams, and a grandson helping his grandparents live the life they deserve.

From Singapore Laksa to Chilli Crab or Hainanese Chicken Rice, I love Singaporean food. Not only are the flavours jam-packed, but I also have many fond memories growing up and eating it, especially during Chinese New Year with my grandparents. I stay connected with my roots and community by feeding my taste buds with spice, staying close to other Singaporeans overseas, and speaking Singlish whenever I can.

I’m making a world of difference by teaching kids the greatness in maths here in the UK, and by sending money back home to my grandparents.
