I*mBitu. My Indian heritage and upbringing proudly follows me wherever I go. Working and travelling in the fast paced West, I carry homemade snacks, spicy treats, and teas in my handbag everywhere. So this way, I can bring a little bit of home with me when we’re chasing deadlines, as we do in my job.
I may be miles away but I always feel connected to Kerala. My fondest memories are of when we spent long summers on holiday and, of course, the colourful Onam festivities. I owe a lot to those simpler times, to my beloved mother and family. I am proud to send money for the festival every year as it helps my mum and her workers’ families who depend on Onam bonuses for the running of their household expenses.
