Where can my recipient collect the funds in Mexico?

You can collect from branches of:

  • Farmacias Guadalajara

  • Walmart

  • Banorte

  • Banco Azteca

  • BBVA Bancomer

  • Bancoppel

  • Telecomm Telegrafos

  • Pagos Intermex

  • Chedraui

  • Farmapronto

  • Soriana

  • Bodegas Aurrera

  • Superama

  • Waldos

Please note: If your recipient is collecting at a Bancoppel branch, the state/department you will enter for your recipient’s address is the only state/department in which the recipient can collect, excluding Estado de Mexico and Mexico City. 

  • E.g. if you send to a Bancoppel recipient with an address in Colima, the recipient can only collect at Bancoppel branches in Colima.

If your recipient is collecting at Chedraui, they will need a Cartera Dinámica product which is a dynamic wallet card that all recipients of Chedraui transactions are required to hold in order to receive cash pickup transactions directly onto a secure card that can be used to shop at Chedraui or to withdraw cash at any Chedraui location.

When will funds be available to be collect in Mexico?

Usually within a few minutes.  We may sometimes require further information from you before we can process the transfer in order to comply with our regulatory requirements. We will email you if this is the case.

What currencies can I send for cash pickups in Mexico?

Mexican Peso (MXN) only.

How much can I send for cash pickups to Mexico?

Branches of Farmacias Guadalajara:

  • Max amount per transfer = MXN 14,000

Branches of AirPak:

  • Max amount per transfer = USD 7,499 equivalent in MXN

  • Max amount per day = USD 7,499 equivalent in MXN

  • Max amount per month = USD 12,000 equivalent in MXN

Branches of Banco Azteca:

  • Max amount per transfer = MXN 50,000

  • Max amount per day = MXN 66,150

  • Max amount per month = MXN 87,000

  • In state of Tamaulipas there is a MXN 8,000 daily limit

Branches of BBVA Bancomer:

  • Max amount per transfer = USD 600 equivalent in MXN

  • Max amount per day = USD 1,200 equivalent in MXN

Branches of Walmart & Banorte:

  • Max amount per transfer = USD 3,000 equivalent in MXN

Branches of Bancoppel:

  • Max amount per transfer = MXN 27,000

  • Max amount per month = MXN 58,000

Branches of Telecomm Telegrafos:

  • The limit will be decided on your send country and payment method

Branches of Pagos Intermex

  • Max amount per transfer = USD 1,500 equivalent in MXN

  • Max amount per month = USD 15,000 equivalent in MXN

Branches of Chedraui

  • Max amount per transfer = MXN 42,000

Branches of Farmapronto, Garis S.A, Grupo Merza

  • Max amount per transfer = MXN 6,500

Branches of Waldos

  • Max amount per transfer = MXN 16,000.00

  • Max amount per day = MXN 50,000.00

  • Max amount per month = MXN 250,000.00

What information do I need from my recipient to collect funds in Mexico?

  • Full name. Please enter your recipient’s full legal name. It must match their valid, government-issued photo ID for them to successfully collect their funds.

  • Address. We need your recipient’s city.

  • Mobile number. We use this to send an SMS notification to your recipient with the transfer number, informing them that their funds are ready to be collected.

  • Sending reason. Please indicate whether it is “family or friend support,” “purchase of services,” “property payment,” or “sending funds to self”.

  • Email (optional). We use this to email your recipient with details of the transfer. This is particularly useful in case they have issues receiving the SMS notifications.

Please ensure that all your recipient’s details are correct. Once you make your transfer, it is difficult for us to amend or stop the transfer, although we will always try our best to do so.

What additional information may I need?

In some circumstances, it’s necessary for transactions to be held, either by us or our partners, in order to comply with relevant regulations. In order to comply with these regulatory obligations we may ask for the purpose of your transfer or source of funds for example.

If this is the case we will contact you, so please ensure you check your emails regularly after you’ve created your transfer.


What should my recipient show when collecting funds in Mexico?

When collecting from any branch of Electra/Banco Azteca, BBVA Bancomer, BanCoppel, Telecomm Telegrafos, Pagos Intermax:

  • Identification. This must be one of the following government-issued IDs:

    • Passport

    • Mexican driver’s license

    • Government issued ID card

  • Quote “BTS” and provide 11-digit transfer reference number. We will notify you and your recipient by email and SMS when funds are ready to be collected and send the transfer reference number. Please quote this when collecting the funds.

When collecting from Branches of Chedraui & Farmapronto, Garis S.A, Grupo Merza:

  • Identification. This must be one of the following government-issued IDs:

    • Passport

    • Mexican driver’s license

    • Government issued ID card

  • Quote the 8-digit transfer reference number. We will notify you and your recipient by email and SMS when funds are ready to be collected and send the transfer reference number. Please quote this when collecting the funds.

When collecting from branches of Walmart & Banorte:

  • Identification. This must be one of the following government-issued IDs:

    • Passport

    • Mexican driver’s license

    • Government issued ID card

  • Provide 12-digit transfer reference number. We will notify you and your recipient by email and SMS when funds are ready to be collected and send the transfer reference number. Please quote this when collecting the funds.

When collecting from Branches of AirPak:

  • Identification. This must be one of the following government-issued IDs:

    • Passport

    • Mexican driver’s license

    • Government issued ID card

  • Quote the 12-digit transfer reference number beginning 7781. We will notify you and your recipient by email and SMS when funds are ready to be collected and send the transfer reference number. Please quote this when collecting the funds.

When collecting from Branches of Waldos:

  • Two valid forms of identification and proof of address no older than 3 months. These can include:

    • Mexican passport or passport card and/or diplomatic card, issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

    • Professional License

    • National military service card (no older than 10 years)

    • Consular registration certification

    • Affiliation card to the 'Instituo Nacional de las Personas Adultas Mayores'

    • Driver's license

    • Credential issues by the 'Instituto de Seguridad Social para las Fuerzas Armadas Mexicanas'

    • Credential issues by the 'Instituto Mexicano del Segura Social' (IMSS)

    • Credential issues by the 'Instituto Nacional de las Personas Adultas Mayores' (INAPAM)
