What is a MyCash card in Zimbabwe?

MyCash is a cashless payment method in Zimbabwe available in partnership with TM Pick n Pay. Any Zimbabwean mobile number can be linked to a MyCash card.

Recipients with a MyCash card can withdraw funds at any ZimSwitch swipe machine or Zimswitch ATM. They can also use their MyCash card at any TM Pick n Pay location, or transfer funds through MyCash mobile banking to transfer to other banks or to pay bills.

Which MyCash cards can I send to in Zimbabwe?

Any MyCash card associated with a Zimbabwean mobile number on one of the following networks:

  • Econet
  • Telecel
  • NetOne

Please note: The MyCash card must be (1) fully registered and (2) active. Don’t worry if your recipient does not have a MyCash card. They will receive an SMS prompting them to register for a card and allowing a 14-day period in which to do so.

When will funds be credited to MyCash cards in Zimbabwe?

How much can I send to MyCash cards in Zimbabwe?

This depends on the type of account the recipient has:

For Ordinary KYC accounts:

  • A maximum of USD 500 per transfer
  • A maximum of USD 3,000 per month
  • A maximum of USD 36,000 per year

For Enhanced KYC accounts:

  • A maximum of USD 500 per transfer
  • A maximum of USD 10,000 per month

A maximum of USD 120,000 per year

What information do I need from my recipient to send to MyCash cards in Zimbabwe?

  • Full name. Please enter your recipient’s full name. To avoid any delays, the recipient’s name should match the name on their mobile account statement exactly.
  • Address. We need your recipient’s city.
  • MyCash mobile number. Please enter the mobile number that is linked to your recipient’s MyCash card.
  • Contact mobile number. We use this number to send SMS notifications to your recipient. This may be different from the MyCash mobile number.
  • Sending reason. Please indicate whether it is “family or friend support,” “purchase of services,” “property payment,” or “sending fund to self”.

Please ensure that all your recipient’s details are correct. Once you make your transaction, it is difficult for us to amend or stop the transfer, although we will always try our best to do so.

What is the Zimbabwe Diaspora Remittance Incentive Scheme (DRIS) and how does it affect my MyCash remittance?

The Diaspora Remittance Incentive Scheme (DRIS) is a bonus programme started by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to incentivise remittances to Zimbabwe by adding a percentage of the funds remitted to the total remittance amount.

  • MyCash accounts are eligible to receive an extra 7% added to the funds sent.
