How to enter:

Entering is easy! All you need to do is:

  1. Send money to the Philippines with us at any time, from 1st July 2020 until 30th September 2020.
  2. Opt in: enter your details (your full name, your phone number, the email address registered under your WorldRemit account and the country you are sending money from) into the form below.
  3. Every Friday of each week from 7th August 2020 until 2nd October 2020 WorldRemit will randomly select several (up to 17) winners.
  4. If you are a lucky winner, WorldRemit will contact you via the email address or phone number you have provided us when entering the competition.
  5. Give WorldRemit the name and postal address of the person you’d like to send the tablet computer to in the Philippines.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Back to School prize draw (the “Prize Draw”) is run by WorldRemit Ltd. (company no. 07110878) whose registered office is at 62 Buckingham Gate, London SW1E 6AJ, United Kingdom (“WorldRemit”, “we” or “us”).
  2. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to verify any entries and the winner. We may refuse to awad the Prize (as defined below) where we have reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions. You can access these terms and conditions at any time during the Prize Draw at https://www.worldremit.com/winatablet
  3. Entrants need to have a valid WorldRemit account and send money to a resident in the Philippines between the Prize Draw’s Opening Date and Closing Date.

    The Prize

  4. There are 150 WorldRemit-branded tablet computers (Android 9.0 operating system) produced by Jandel Enterprises (the “Prize” or collectively the “Prizes”) to give away. One Prize per winner only.
  5. The Prize is as stated and no other alternative prizes will be offered. The Prize is not transferable and no cash equivalent will be give. The Prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute the Prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. The Prize may be considered a taxable benefit and the winner will be directly responsible for any taxes payable.

    How to Enter

  6. The Prize Draw will open on 1st July 2020 at 00:01 GMT (the “Opening Date”) and will close on 30th September 2020 at 23:59 GMT (the “Closing Date”). Final entries must be received by us before 23:59 GMT on the Closing Date. Any entries received after this time will not be eligible to win a Prize.
  7. We will select up to seventeen (17) winners each week. If you do not win one week, you will be automatically re-entered for the next week. You do not need to enter more than once. In the event you do enter more than once, any additional entries will be removed so that you have one entry in the competition at all times.
  8. The Prize Draw is open to all new and existing customers of WorldRemit who are 18 years or older. You are not eligible to enter the Prize Draw if you, or a member of your immediate family (which means parents, children, siblings, spouse and life partners) are an employee, contractor or sub-contractor of WorldRemit or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries or is otherwise connected with the organisation.
  9. To enter the Prize Draw you must:
    • (a) complete one (1) successful send-money transaction to an individual in the Philippines using WorldRemit between the Opening Date and the Closing Date (a “Transaction”). The Transaction must be in PAID status for you to be entered into the Prize Draw; and
    • (b) submit your name, email address (the one you used to register with WorldRemit), phone number and the country you are sending money from at: www.worldremit.com/winatablet;
  10. There is no additional entry fee to enter the Prize Draw.
  11. Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for any entries not received by us for any reason.
  12. Participants agree that they will comply with all applicable laws when entering the Prize Draw, including but not limited to anti-corruption, anti-bribery and anti-slavery laws.
  13. WorldRemit reserves the right to reject entries of participants where they are in breach of WorldRemit’s terms and conditions and in particular if they fail to comply with applicable laws when completing a Transaction, including but not limited to committing or attempting to commit any fraudulent act on their WorldRemit account.

    Ownership and Use of your Entry

  14. By entering the Prize Draw, you give WorldRemit (including our group companies and affiliate companies) the right to edit, publish and use your entry and your name, and the name of your Prize Recipient (as defined below) in any and all media (including print and online) for promotion and news purposes both during and after the Prize Draw, without any payment to you.

    The Winners

  15. here will be one hundred and fifty (150) winners in total.
  16. We will select between sixteen (16) and twenty (20) winners each week using a random draw performed by a computer-generated process via a randomiser application.
  17. Once you have won a Prize you cannot win a Prize again. You can only claim a Prize for one Prize Recipient.
  18. The winners will be notified via email or phone call using the email address or phone number provided in their entry.
  19. Each winner must provide the name and postal address of a student in the Philippines whom they want to receive the Prize (their “Prize Recipient”).
  20. Each winner must procure that their Prize Recipient has given all necessary permissions and consents for the Prize Recipient’s name and postal address to be shared with WorldRemit, including our group companies and affiliate companies. 20. Each winner must procure that their Prize Recipient or where the Prize Recipient is under the age of 18, their legal guardian has given permission for the Prize Recipient to:
    • (a) send a digital photograph of themselves to WorldRemit; and
    • (b) give WorldRemit the right to edit, publish and use their photograph and their name in any and all media (including print and online) for promotion and news purposes both during and after the Prize Draw, without any payment by WorldRemit to the Prize Recipient.
  21. WorldRemit will begin distributing Prizes to the Prize Recipients designated by the winners via a third party from 1st September 2020 onwards. WorldRemit shall not be responsible for any damage that may be sustained to the Prize during its delivery and any offering of a replacement Prize that is damaged shall be at the sole discretion of WorldRemit
  22. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not provide their Prize Recipient’s name and postal address by 31st October 2020, we reserve the right to withdraw the offer of the Prize from that winner and select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  23. To be able to claim the Prize, you must be able to demonstrate via documentary evidence that the Prize Recipient is a student. We reserve the right to request further documentation relating to your identity or your Prize Recipient’s identity as part of our internal vetting process. If you or your Prize Recipient do not pass our internal vetting process (to be determined at our sole discretion) or you or your Prize Recipient fail to provide any additional documentation requested by us within a reasonable time, you will forfeit the Prize.
  24. It is your responsibility to ensure that you adhere to any third party terms that apply to your eligibility for the Prize. Is it your responsibility to procure that your Prize Recipient adheres to any third party terms that apply to their eligibility to receive the Prize.

    Data and Marketing

  25. When you give us the information we ask for as part of the Prize Draw, you agree that we, our agents and suppliers may use it (i) as needed to conduct the Prize Draw as we have described in these terms; and (ii) to contact you in the future for related marketing and promotional offers relating to the WorldRemit service.
  26. You may choose to stop receiving marketing emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions included in such emails.
  27. Personal data supplied during the course of the Prize Draw may be passed on to third parties, insofar as required and necessary for fulfilment / delivery / arrangement of the Prize. Any personal data relating to you or to your Prize Recipient will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation, as updated from time to time.
  28. Any information you provide will be used in accordance with those sections of our Privacy Policy that are relevant. Our Privacy Policy can be found at: https://www.worldremit.com/en/about-us/privacy-policy

    Liability

  29. We accept liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of our employees and agents. We do not seek to exclude liability for fraud by us or our employees or agents. For any other loss or damage, we will only be liable for losses which are a reasonably foreseeable consequence of our negligence or breach of these terms and conditions, up to a maximum of €500. Losses are foreseeable when they could be contemplated by you and us at the time of you entering the Prize Draw.
  30. We are not responsible for:
    • (a) losses not caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence;
    • (b) indirect losses (these are losses which are a side effect of the main loss or damage and which are not reasonably foreseeable by you and us at the time of you entering the Prize Draw); entries lost, delayed, damaged or corrupted where such loss, damage, delay or corruption is caused by events outside of our reasonable control;
    • (c) technical failures or errors affecting communication lines, website availability or systems errors where these are not within our reasonable control; or
    • (d) any failure to provide the Prize Draw, to provide the Prizes, to provide the Prizes to the Prize Recipients, or to meet any of our obligations under these terms and conditions where that failure arises because of events outside of our reasonable control.

    General

  31. We are not responsible for the performance of any third party involved in (i) the Prize Draw or (ii) aspects of the provision of the Prizes to the Prize Recipients. We will not be liable for any act or omission of a third party, although we will endeavour to minimise the effect to you of any third party’s failure.
  32. WorldRemit reserves the right to cancel or amend the Prize Draw and these terms and conditions where necessary to do so. Any changes to these terms and conditions will be notified to entrants as soon as reasonably possible by WorldRemit.
  33. WorldRemit’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the Prize Draw will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Prize Draw and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. If you wish to take court proceedings against WorldRemit you must do so in England.
