WorldRemit and QuickCash launch instant money transfers to Ivory Coast
Ivorian diaspora will now be able to send money to more than 400 new cash pickup locations across the country
Abidjan and London, 15 February 2018: Leading digital money transfer service WorldRemit has partnered with QuickCash to allow customers to send instant money transfers to new cash pickup locations across Ivory Coast.
WorldRemit’s mobile-first, digital model on the send side allows hard working migrants to send money to Ivory Coast in a few taps directly from their phones - without the need to visit and stand in line at a bricks and mortar agent.
This partnership builds on the need for faster and more convenient ways to send money back to friends and family. According to the World Bank, Ivory Coast has close to 5% of its population living and working abroad, with top migration destinations including France, Italy and the United States.
Remittances play an important role in its economy. In 2015 the World Bank estimated that over $385 million dollars was received in overseas remittances.
This partnership means that Ivorians living and working in over 50 countries can now send remittances as easily as sending an instant message, using the WorldRemit app or website to 405 QuickCash cash pickup locations across Ivory Coast.
Andrew Stewart, Regional Director of Africa and the Middle East at WorldRemit, comments: “QuickCash has a large established network across Ivory Coast and this partnership will give the Ivorian diaspora access to a greater choice of payout options in sending instant money transfers back to their country.”
Richard Allouan, Marketing & Sales director at QuickCash adds: "WorldRemit designs flexible and reliable international money transfer solutions. This partnership between WorldRemit and QUICKCASH gives even more opportunities to the Ivorian diaspora, present in fifty countries to send funds instantly via the WorldRemit platform. Customers will have the opportunity to quickly recover cash in all QUICKCASH points of sale.”
