What is a Canada Transit Code?

Canada Transit Code

The Canada Transit Code is 5 digits-long and composed of numbers only. This code is required along with the Bank Name and Account Number to perform a bank transfer to Canada through WorldRemit. The Canada Transit Code may also be known as the Transit Number or Branch Code.

The Canada Transit Code can usually be found towards the bottom left of your recipient’s check, to the left of the 3-digit Institution Code. Your recipient should also be able to find the Transit Code associated with their account on their online banking, on their bank statement or by contacting their bank.
