How do I pay for my transfer?

Sorry, we do not accept cash

WorldRemit does not accept cash as a means of paying for your money transfer.

As an online business, it would be very difficult for you to physically get the money to us. Also, for security reasons, it is important to know where money is coming from before it is sent abroad. It is much harder to do this with cash.

Debit & credit card

You can pay for your money transfer through WorldRemit using a debit or credit card in any of the countries where our service is available.

WorldRemit accepts Visa, Mastercard and Maestro.  When paying with a credit card you may be charged a cash advance fee so please check with your card provider.

Manual bank payment (UK only):  If your bank does not support one of the options listed above, you can send the money directly from your bank account to WorldRemit’s account:

  • Use your online banking service to create a transfer to WorldRemit. The payment must be received by midnight.
    • Bank name: Barclays Bank
    • Account name: WorldRemit Ltd
    • Sort code: 20-27-55
    • Account number: 23533093
  • Important: If you choose this option, use your WorldRemit customer number as the bank transfer reference. e.g. WR012345.

Please note that WorldRemit’s UK banking sort code has changed from 20-27-48 to 20-27-55.

  • Why is WorldRemits sort code changing? It’s due to an industry-wide change, driven by UK legislation. It requires Barclays to separate their UK retail banking activities from the rest of their business
  • Will my transfers be delayed? No, they will not.
  • Do I need to change the account number as well? No.  Our Barclays’ account number will remain the same.

For more information, visit Barclays’ website.

Manual bank payment (Japan only): We can only accept bank transfers as the method of payment from Japan at the moment. Here’s how it works:

  • Ensure that you transfer the full amount of your transaction to our bank account:
    • Bank Name: Mitsui Sumitomo Banking Corporation (Bank Code 0009)
    • Branch: Head Office (Branch Code 200)
    • Account Type: Savings
    • Account Number: 3712969
  • Important: Funds must be transferred from your Japanese bank account, as we cannot accept payments from other countries. Use your WorldRemit customer number (e.g. WR01234567) as the reference when transferring funds to us. This will allow us to track it easily and ensure there’s no delay.

Manual bank payment (Singapore only)

  • Log in to your online banking with your account provider.
  • Type in the full amount of the transfer (including any relevant fees).
  • Include your WorldRemit customer number as the reference when transferring the funds. This will help us easily track the funds and ensure there are no delays.
  • Send the funds to:
    • Account Name: WorldRemit (Singapore) Pte Ltd
    • Bank Name: DBS Bank Ltd (Bank Code: 7171)
    • Branch Code: 003
    • Account Number: 003-946717-6
  • Funds must be transferred from your own Singaporean bank account. We cannot accept third party payments or funds from other countries.
