How much can I send for cash pickups to Egypt?

The maximum amount (per transfer) which you can send depends on the network. Please see below for more info: 

Branches of National bank of Egypt: A maximum of EGP 45,200.00 per transaction. 

Branches of Al Baraka Bank: A maximum of EGP 45,200.00 per transaction. 

Branches of Banque Du Caire: This depends on the country you are sending from and your payment method. 

There may be lower limits depending on the country where you are sending from and the payment method used to fund the transfer. Please see the relevant section in Payment for more info.

What information do I need from my recipient to collect funds in Egypt?

  • Full name. Please enter your recipient’s full legal name. It must match their valid, government-issued photo ID for them to successfully collect their funds.
  • Address. We need your recipient’s city.
  • Mobile number. We use this to send an SMS notification to your recipient with the transaction reference number which they will need in order to collect the funds. We will also inform them when their funds are ready to be collected.
  • Sending reason. Please indicate whether it is “family or friend support,” “purchase of services,” “property payment,” or “sending funds to self”.
  • Email (optional). We use this to email your recipient with details of the transaction. This is particularly useful in case they have issues receiving the SMS notifications.

Please make sure that recipient's name is entered exactly as it appears on their ID. If sending to National Bank of Egypt recipient MUST have 4 names, please send to a different bank if your recipient does not have 4 names.

What should my recipient show when collecting funds in Egypt?

Branches of National Bank of Egypt: 

  • Valid Photo ID. This must be a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, National ID, driver’s license. 
  • Quote the 16-digit transaction reference starting with HB. National Bank of Egypt will send an SMS to your recipient containing this number when funds are ready to be collected. Please quote this when collecting the funds. 

Branches of Al Baraka Bank: 

  • Valid photo ID. This must be a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, National ID, driver’s license, or work permit. 
  • Quote the 16-digit transaction reference number. We’ll notify you and your recipient by email and SMS when funds are ready to be collected and send a transaction reference number. Please quote this when collecting the funds. 

Branches of Banque Du Caire: 

  • Valid photo ID. This must be a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, National ID, driver’s license, or work permit.
  • Quote the 12-digit Flex number.  Banque Du Caire will send an SMS to your recipient containing this number when funds are ready to be collected.  Please quote this when collecting the funds.
