Is Covid-19 affecting money transfer services?

Worldremit is a digital service, our website and app are available 24/7. In a few instances you may experience a slightly longer wait time for transfers to arrive. We are working hard with our partners to ensure that transfers work as normal.

What if my recipient still wants to receive cash?

Some cash pick-up locations serving money transfer operators have restricted opening hours or are closed. Where possible, please transfer to bank accounts, mobile money, or airtime. You can find country specific information for more details. Alternatively, you can visit the homepage of your destination country on our website or app when sending money.

Where can I find help quickly?

Our money transfer services are working as normal, but some cash pick up services are restricted. Please do not call customer support unless absolutely necessary, our customer support team is receiving very high call volumes, so we ask for your patience.  You may find an answer more quickly by checking our FAQs.

If you have received notification that your transaction has been cancelled for any reason, kindly note that a refund can take up to 7 days, so please do not call customer support until after this time.

Is cash pick up impacted in Argentina?

More MT in Argentina have closed their cash pick up service nationwide due to COVID-19 movement restrictions. You can still send directly to a bank account, 24/7 from our website and app, this may be a more convenient option at this time.

Are services impacted in Bangladesh?

All cash pick up closed on March 25th until further notice. Bank transfer and mobile money and airtime top up are still available. Please use these services.

Are services impacted in Colombia?

Colombia is in mandatory lockdown until April 13th. Please check your cash pick up providers locations and opening hours below.

Bancolombia: Only 343 locations open from 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Find out more.
Davivienda: Only 284 locations open from 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Find out more.
Financiera Pagos Internacionales: Locations open from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Locations in Cartagena, Montenegro, Medellin, Itagui and Bello closed until April 13th. Find out more.

Are services impacted in Nepal?

Selected NIC Asia and Citizen's Bank branches will be open for cash pick up from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM during the lockdown period. Bank transfer and airtime top up are still available and maybe a more convenient option at this time.

Are services impacted in Nigeria?

Banks are operating restricted opening hours.

Is cash pick up impacted in Paraguay?

More Money Transfer in Paraguay have closed their cash pick up service nationwide due COVID-19 movement restrictions. 

BBVA Paraguay is still providing a cash pick up service, opening hours are as follows March 23-29th 8:30 AM until 12:00PM. From March 30th they will resume normal hours (8:45AM to 1:30PM).

You can send directly to bank accounts, 24/7 from our website and app, this may be a more convenient option at this time.

Is cash pick up impacted in the Philippines?

BDO branches and BDO Remit in SM Malls are closed for cash pick up nationwide due to COVID-19 movement restrictions.

Cash pick up is available in RD Pawnshops and Villarica Pawnshop where the locations are open.

All other providers remain unaffected, please check the Philippines country page on our website to find the most convenient provider.

Are services impacted in Sri Lanka?

Cash pick up locations are operating restricted opening hours please check your local providers information.

Bank transfer, mobile money and airtime top up are still available and may be a more convenient option at this time.

Are services impacted in Zimbabwe?

Zimbabwe will go into mandatory lockdown from March 30th

You can still send money to EcoCash mobile money wallets and bank accounts, we strongly advise customers to transfer directly to bank accounts and mobile money.

Selected BancABC branches are open to allow WorldRemit customers to collect their cash pickup remittances by 5pm.

How can I send money to an EcoCash mobile money account in Zimbabwe

You can continue to send money to EcoCash, your recipient’s FCA mobile money account will be credited in USD. The Government circular on Friday 27th March, announced that USD can be used to buy goods and services or send money to family and friends across the country.

If you need to convert USD received into an EcoCash FCA account to local currency (ZWL), this can be done by following the steps below:
