Who we’re searching for...

You will be a member of the Global FX team within the wider Treasury & Finance division of WorldRemit and will be responsible for developing and managing the Company's FX activities and exposures in APAC markets.

Typical Responsibilities

The role holder’s main responsibilities will be:

Business Performance

• Working extensively with WorldRemit’s Network team to drive existing and new business opportunities in FX
• Developing and maintaining relationships with banks and liquidity providers to ensure competitive FX pricing within the APAC region
• Drive forward on the delivery of preferred FX models (including for example the set-up of Banking panels) across APAC
• Build out and development of the Sydney FX desk & WR FX platform within APAC
• Trading developed, emerging & frontier FX markets in line with the firms agreed strategies (Spot, Forward, NDF, Swap products)
• Extensive collaboration with FX Desk in London & globally
• Development of automated risk management strategies to optimise FX execution and enhance Treasury PnL
• Regular travel within APAC to develop ‘onshore’ commercial relationships
• Create FX content for commercial presentations
• Working with pricing teams to ensure optimised rates across APAC corridors
• Develop the region to become a significant contributor to the Global Treasury PnL
• Responsible for reporting APAC FX / Treasury exposures and risk management KPIs
• Longer term development of an FX team in the region

Risks

• Responsible for reporting APAC FX / Treasury exposures and risk management KPIs
• Responsible for monitoring market risk limits &  daily settlement limits (VAR)
• Responsible for the management of limits by product/trader
• Responsible as the first contact point to resolve any FX issues related to Banks and Correspondents
• Ensuring that FX / Treasury systems operate effectively and efficiently

Projects

• Cross-division and cross-functional coordination to deliver FX projects at pace EMS, TMS, Algo execution strats, OMS, pricing APIs.
• Leveraging all Technology available to Treasury to ensure efficiencies, control and automation

Process

• Accurate execution and confirmation of FX trades on behalf of WR
• Maintaining a close relationship with Treasury operations through regular interactions to ensure seamless operational processing of FX deals
• Ensuring implementation of EMS / TMS  in the region and driving forward on the utilization of full system capabilities
• Redesigning FX / Treasury processes with a focus on efficient and effective processes with minimal manual intervention
• Create FX content for commercial presentations
• Enhance the control environment by maintaining technical documentation of desk processes
• Enhance the control environment by further automating processes within the Treasury Front office environment

Summary of required experience & attributes

• Significant experience in FX or global financial markets businesses
• Commercial acumen required to drive improvement in FX trading and bring on new trading counterparts and liquidity providers
• Strong business development & negotiation skills / experience
• Experience of eFX and pricing / risk management systems
• Strong understanding of APAC local FX markets & regulatory environments / conventions
• Understanding and or experience of cross border payments
• Ability to build and manage a small team
• Analytical and logical approach to problem solving.
• Proven competitive drive to achieve results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
• Ability to communicate complex information effectively
