Senior Funding Manager (Treasury)

Who we’re searching for...

You will be a member of the Treasury team within the Finance department and manage the Daily Funding of 230+ Pay-out partners Globally.

This includes, assessing and supporting the development of the products, technologies and systems that are available to optimize WR’s approach to Funding.

The role will develop a deep understanding of the transaction lifecycle and the characteristics of our network of pay-out partners. You will be expected to identify, investigate and implement strategies to optimize the use of working capital and ensure a seamless customer experience. You will analyse flows and predict requirements.

You will ensure that our extensive network of pay-out partners are funded at all times at the same time ensuring we do not over commit our working capital unnecessarily.

You will support the implementation of tools and systems for the department.

Typical Responsibilities

The role holder’s main responsibilities will be:

Business Performance

• Ensure pay-out partners are sufficiently funded at all to ensure an uninterrupted service to our customers
• Build and maintain first class relationships with Pay-out partners and Bank partners to ensure optimal process and efficient resolution as required
• Evaluate WorldRemit’s Forecasting Models and drive forward on best in class modelling
• Assist in the continual development of new Funding/FX approaches and advise on best in class practices
• Partner with WR’s Network Team to drive forward on best solutions for Funding, for example negotiation of Pay-out post-funded facilities and credit lines
• Work closely with the Bank negotiation team to ensure best use of credit lines and LCs with our Banking partners
• Proactively look forward and in line with trends and projections across the Business plan for peak monthly Funding requirements
• Take a leading role in always ensuring high quality execution to agreed strategy within timelines
• Assist in the development of a highly motivated, innovative and focused Funding team

Reporting & Risks

• Deliver automation and efficiencies in WR’s Funding process
• Responsible as the first contact point in Treasury to resolve Correspondent balance reconciliation differences
• Responsible for analysing forward risk scenarios with recommendations on mitigation
• Production and development of reports to demonstrate the performance of the Funding team
• Assist in the development of Team KPIs to ensure and demonstrate best in class Treasury Management
• Assist in the publication of Management, Exco and Board reports as required
• Assist in the development of a best in class Daily Treasury Dashboard (inclusive of the Funding position)
• Ensuring that Funding Risk Management metrics are firmly embedded in Objectives & Key Results for team reports
• Play a first line of defence role in the review of Correspondent credit risks

Projects

• Cross-division and cross-functional coordination to deliver preferred Funding & FX Models at pace
• Development of best in class Forecasting models
• Support external and internal Treasury Audits
• Automation and leverage of Treasury technology at all times
• Assist the specification, development, testing and implementation of new software and models
• Treasury lead in Pay-out partner Reconciliation process

Process

• Maintaining a close relationship with Treasury Cash Management, FX, Reporting and Treasury Operations through regular meetings understanding the activity and liaising on treasury related initiatives
• Building a close relationship with WR’s Network team across the globe to optimize process
• Assist in ensuring post- implementation of WR’s Treasury Management System and driving forward on the utilization of full system capabilities
• Assist in the delivery of high-quality documentation of front-to-end processes and controls ensuring that governance and internal financial control over processes are robust
• Identify required business process/control/procedure changes
• Enhance the control environment by further automating processes and introduce validation checks
• As appropriate, supporting the delivery of change across Finance and the business, embracing new ways of working and owning delivery of key outcomes to drive the improvement of long-term business capability
• Ownership of all month-end processes to ensure timely and accurate month-end reporting
