To do this, we need to hire bright people who can work autonomously and make the right decisions.
Specific Tasks
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating:
- software licences, SaaS agreements, marketing agreements, payment processor agreements, and consultancy contracts;
- other general commercial contracts – predominantly with suppliers of WorldRemit for goods and services; and
- NDAs;
- Advising the Marketing team on prize draws, promotions, and sponsorship arrangements;
- Assisting the Product team with legal advice on new product launches in multiple jurisdictions;
- Assisting on the implementation of legal risk policies and procedures;
- Assisting with the creation, and periodic review and update of, WorldRemit standard contracts;
- Working with personnel in various territories and being comfortable with allying territorial approaches with corporate strategy;
- Helping to instruct outside counsel on a range of issues, managing the relationships and ensuring costs are managed effectively;
- Assisting on a wide range of other legal issues, including regulatory advisory work.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor with excellent academic credentials (minimum 2:1)
- In-house experience gained in payments institutions preferred but not essential
- Demonstrable passion for FinTech
- Strong commercial contracts background
- 2-5 years PQE
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire for breadth of workload
- Hands on “can do” attitude
- Excellent relationship building / interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Good eye for detail
- Ability to summarise issues succinctly
