About the Role

This role is for you if you:

This role sits within the General Counsel’s office, comprising Legal, Company Secretarial, Risk & Assurance. Our team is highly regarded throughout WorldRemit; working together, let’s keep it that way.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Company Secretarial Manager and the General Counsel on the operation and governance of our group of companies globally
  • Liaising with local directors, law firms and other external advisers to deliver timely advice and support in line with business needs
  • Supporting horizon scanning on company and corporate governance topics
  • Maintaining systems to ensure timely and accurate corporate and regulatory filings with companies registries and regulators globally
  • Corporate database management and delivering against information requests
  • Subsidiary board support and the drafting of relevant corporate authorities, resolutions and other documents
  • Effective working with internal stakeholders (such as our Compliance, Finance, Tax and Commercial teams) to:
  1. Ensure group company management in accordance with our Legal Entity policy
  2. Raise awareness of the importance of proper corporate governance
  3. Support the maintenance of capital positions in line with group policies (e.g., issue of shares, share reorganisations, dividend payments)
  • Assisting with regulatory licence applications, insurance renewals and Companies House filings
  • Supporting management of our senior staff equity scheme
  • Contribution to team development, scaling, efficiency and improvement

Experience & attributes

  • Qualified or part qualified chartered secretary in the UK, ideally with least 2-3 years of experience
  • User friendly, and enjoys building good and lasting relationships
  • A real willingness to engage with different cultures and styles is key, and international experience a plus
  • Ability to successfully balance being a team player and working alone
  • Responsible, conscientious, pragmatic, proactive, motivated and a problem-solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to converse effectively and succinctly with senior stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and share learnings
  • Intellectual curiosity and good attention to detail
  • Tech savvy
  • Foreign language skills (especially French) highly desirable
