We are seeking a talented and experienced Content Writer with a journalistic background to help create content for our global media relations programme. The ideal candidate will have an eye for a story angle, an understanding of the types of content news outlets want, and how content can be repurposed and used throughout WorldRemit’s owned channels.
You will be crafting copy to help shape and drive our media campaigns to ensure consistency of messaging and storytelling by our media agencies, on our blog and through our owned organic social channels:
Responsibilities
- Long form content such as research reports for media and marketing campaigns
- Mid length content such as byline/opinion articles for key WorldRemit spokespersons on the latest innovations and developments in fintech, international payments and our own service offerings.
- Case study/stories of our users and how the WorldRemit service has helped them
- Creating evergreen short form blog content on core aspects of the WorldRemit service to help educate our audiences
- Creating thought leadership platforms for key WorldRemit executives (e.g. Chief Product Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Executive Officer), and related content including WorldRemit blog posts and LinkedIn executive posts.
- Related social post copy promoting long form content
- Support PR Managers with a core bank of consistent and reusable spokesperson points for their markets
What You’ll Need
- 2 - 6 years of experience editing and/or writing technology content for a consumer audience, talking points and speech writing a bonus
- Experience in content or news ideation and production for either a news organization or an agency
- Familiarity with monitoring and reacting to news stories
- Ability to analyse data, spot trends to create newsworthy content
- A meticulous eye for detail
- Impeccable grammar
- Comprehensive understanding of tone and voice and ability to adapt to a specific tone (e.g. What works in Africa, might not work in Asia)
- Familiar with culture and business in emerging markets, specifically Africa and Asia.
- Ideally the successful candidate will have a background in consumer and or fintech journalism, with strong experience in writing content for multiple channels.
- You will be a team player, with creative flair.
- You will be able to multi-task efficiently, working well under pressure in fast-paced environments.
