Head of Engineering – Customer Growth Tribe
What you’ll be working on:
Based in London, reporting to our VP of Engineering Wayne Freeman, you will be the Engineering Leader for our newly-formed Customer Growth Tribe. Initially, you will take responsibility for 3 full-stack teams of top-class engineers whose mission is to increase our customer base using our Web experience and Mobile apps. The teams split their focus between 1) customer acquisition, 2) account activations and 3) our recently launched market-changing in-app Wallet.
In close partnership with the Tribe’s Product Leader and your Engineering Leads, you will grow our customer base to multiple millions in the next few years.

Technology at WorldRemit:
Investment in technology is the #1 priority for WorldRemit’s investors, board and senior leadership team. Headed by our CTO Russ Thornton, the technology team currently stands at 100 across London, Krakow and Denver. The team will grow to circa 140 this year and could well double in size again beyond 2018.
Our Technology organisation is changing; we’re transitioning to a Tribe/Squad approach to enable us to meet our customer’s needs whilst we continue our rapid growth. This role will play a pivotal role in this transition.
We have built our cloud-native distributed platform which is hosted in Azure and AWS. Our teams follow a Build It, Support It model ensuring we drive high standards in quality, security and resilience.
Our chosen web technology stack is React, Redux and Node.js. Our native iOS app is built with Swift and Kotlin has been introduced for our Android version. Our service platform is predominately built using C#/.NET and we use a host of data technologies including SQL Server, DocDB, RedShift, Kafka & Hive.
