Application Security Engineer

Who we’re searching for...

As an Application Security Engineer you will:

• help embed security into our systems by threat modelling and design review,
• understanding and interpreting output from tooling & manual penetration tests 
• continuously developing and reviewing our internal processes to drive maturity

You will have:

• Strong knowledge of information security principles.
• Strong knowledge of common Web and Mobile vulnerabilities
• Experience with security tooling such as SAST, DAST, dependency checking tooling and vulnerability management tools.
• Experience working with infrastructure and development teams to embed security into new infrastructure and applications.
• Skills to automate your tasks (ideally using Python, Perl or Bash)
• Experience of working with CICD environments and using common CICD technologies such as Jenkins and container technology such as Docker.
• The ability to ensure that identified issues are prioritised and addressed in an appropriate timeframe.
• Ability to translate the security risk and impact to other departments and stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset.
• Contributions to the security community are a big plus (public research, presentations, bug bounty participation, etc)

Have you got what it takes?

• Enjoys both breaking and building.
• Has a passion for understanding systems holistically and how systems work together.
• Is willing to compromise when it's necessary and hold firm when it's essential.
• Maintains a strong desire to build robust things (But also to break them!).
• Has excellent communication skills.

 Nice to haves:

• Security certifications (such as OSCP, Crest CRT/CCT, CISSP, SANS. Avoid mentioning your CEH).
• Software development experience
• +4 years of professional experience.
